- A recent moment from an Ella Langley concert is making a big impact on fans.
- Ella opened up about her relationship with God during an onstage speech.
- She is currently on her Dandelion Tour and just announced a second leg of dates.
Ella Langley prioritizes one thing every day: Her relationship with God. The “Choosin’ Texas” singer delivered a powerful testimony in front of her concert crowd at the Zoo Amphitheatre in Oklahoma City on June 18, and video of that moment has generated a lot of praiseful chatter online after the fact.
“For a year of my life, 365 days, I’ve read my Bible every single day. Instead of trying to go to other things like I have before — either men, or drugs, or other feelings to try to make myself feel a certain way — I go to Him first,” Ella said in a heartfelt moment in between songs.
She opened up about her feelings of self-doubt as an artist and the challenges of fame, which she admits hasn’t been the easiest to adapt to. But she always looks to God when she’s feeling low. “The thing that changed my mind is I realized that I have a purpose in this life, and my purpose is to stand up here, share my testimony, be honest with my crowd, be honest with my fans, so I have the best songs I can write and the best show that I can put on, and that’s all I can do,” she told Oklahoma concertgoers.
“Don’t expect me to stand up here and be perfect, because I’m never going to stand up here and be perfect. I just want you to expect me to stand up here and be here, with you, tonight. That’s all I want.”
Just a year ago, as she was adjusting to her very quick ascent into stardom, Ella reveals that she wasn’t sure she wanted to “be here” anymore. God changed her mind. “There’s one North Star, and we all know who that is,” she continued, pointing to the sky.
Her speech resonated with fans who weren’t even there to witness it in person, with people leaving the following comments on the fan-shot video:
- “You are setting such a great influence for little girls who look up to you. Thank you for that.”
- “This is my sister in Christ.”
- “Praise him girl! Jesus is KING!”
- “I love how honest she is about her testimony and her faith!!”
- “THERE IS A REASON ELLA BECAME FAMOUS SO QUICK. Thank you LORD!!”
Though she’s been making music for most of her life, Ella didn’t release her debut album until 2024 via Sony Music Nashville, but her career has been a rocket ship since. “You Look Like You Love Me,” a duet with fellow singer Riley Green, was a breakout hit, as was “Weren’t From the Wind” from that project. Then came her sophomore album Dandelion earlier this year — home to the megahit “Choosin’ Texas,” a co-write with Miranda Lambert, which hit No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart. That song has made Ella the first female artist ever to top the Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and Country Airplay charts at the same time.
Is Ella Langley on Tour?
Ella Langley is currently on her Dandelion Tour, named for her new album, released in April. The tour only started earlier this month, but it has been so popular that she’s already needed to announce a second leg of dates. The first run will wrap on August 15, and Ella will get a few days to recoup before the second half starts on August 20 in Green Bay. She’ll play more than a dozen states before wrapping up on Halloween in St. Paul, Minnesota.
