Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup dried cherries
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips

Directions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg in a bowl.

    2. Beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until incorporated after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Reduce mixer speed to low and gradually beat in flour mixture just until combined. Stir in oats, cherries, and chocolate chips.

    3. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake until golden brown around edges, 12 to 14 minutes. Let cool on baking sheets 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
