Anita Rani has announced a furry new addition to her family — an adorable Bedlington Whippet puppy.
The Countryfile presenter posted a photo of her new pup on Instagram, and as a self-confessed first-time pet owner, asked followers to share their recommendations for the best in puppy products.
"Soon she will be joining our family," Anita captioned her snap. "We will be first time dog owners. Calling all dog types out there.
"Hook me up with all the best links on @instagram so my pooch can live like a queen, a very well trained and very stylish lil'bitch. Thank you."
Anita's fans seemed to be utterly beguiled her new puppy, with one commenting: "Yey! A little girl Whiplington - they are the best dogs! My mum has one called wizard - as fast as a whippet with the stamina of a terrier! Good luck."
TV presenter and fellow former Strictly star Ore Oduba added: "Beautyyyyy."
The Bedlington is often described as an elegant terrier, but they are active dogs capable of hunting and killing rodents and vermin. They are also said to be intelligent, trainable, and have high energy.
Meanwhile, fellow Countryfile presenter Matt Baker recently introduced his new dog Fergus to fans on social media.
"Introducing Fergus our cairn terrier, he's a cheeky little character and a super drystone walling companion! #cairnterrier," the TV star captioned the photo of his new pet.
The Cairn Terrier is one of the oldest terrier breeds, originating in the Scottish Highlands and recognised as one of Scotland's earliest working dogs. They are family dogs, known for being sturdy, intelligent, independent, alert and sensitive. And of course for any fans of The Wizard of Oz - Dorothy's beloved dog Toto was a Cairn terrier.
We can't wait to see more of Anita's puppy once he's settled in very soon.
