Everyone Wants a Barbour Coat But Don't Sleep on the Brand's Cute Bags
They're cheaper to boot.

Every year at about this time I start fantasizing about a fall wardrobe inspired by the misty English countryside—one that consists of ivory fisherman's sweaters and Dubarry boots and pairs well with a Labrador retriever and an antique walking stick. Recently, as I set out to fulfill this vision by splurging on a waxed canvas coat by Barbour, I instead found myself happily distracted by the iconic brand's assortment of bags.
I've been on the hunt for a classic cross-body bag for a while now—the streamlined, fuss-free style lends itself well to my frequent antiquing excursions—so I was delighted to stumble upon the "Laire" in a rich brown leather and timeless saddle shape. (I've loved this saddle silhouette forever, but my children need to be fed.) However, if the saddle style isn't up your aesthetic alley, there are plenty more to peruse in all sorts of sizes and patterns and colorways.
As you'd imagine, they're not cheap—prices range between $120 and $250—but they won't set you back as much as a coat (I've now got my eye on this one) and seeing that Barbour is a timeless 130-year-old brand—Queen Elizabeth II famously wore the same Barbour jacket for 25-plus years!—the cost-per-wear math will quickly work out in your favor.
