36 Restaurants Open on New Year's Day 2024
Don't feel like cooking on New Year's? These restaurants near you will be open.
It's hard to believe, but it's time to usher in a new year. With 2024 right around the corner (seriously! we checked!), start planning your New Year's resolutions and brushing up on the lyrics to Auld Lang Syne. January 1 is typically a quieter day for most people, and many businesses and offices are closed. If you're looking for a restaurant open on New Year's Day, you'll want to make sure they're open before you head out.
Maybe this year you're focusing on the big New Year's lunch with all of the lucky foods, like black-eyed peas, you're supposed to have on New Year's Day. Then give yourself a break by picking up breakfast or dinner and avoiding all of the piles of dishes. Just want coffee? Don't worry, Starbucks is open! We always recommend checking with your local restaurant before you set out, as some locations may be observing limited hours due to the holiday.

Open: Chick-Fil-A
Last year, New Year's Day fell on a Sunday, so Chick-Fil-A restaurants were closed. They'll be open this year, as their only closures (other than Sundays) are Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Check the website for hours.
Open: Bob Evans
Dine in on January 1 or pick up a Farmhouse Feast to serve 4-10. The hearty offering includes choice of entrée (ham, turkey, or pot roast) plus sides, rolls, and pie. Restaurants will be open during regular business hours.

Looking for a crowd-pleaser? The Golden Corral buffet is the way to go. Everyone in the family will find something to eat from their extensive selection.

Think outside the bun in 2024! Most Taco Bells will be open on New Year's Day to satisfy all your taco cravings—though the hours may be limited. Check your nearest location to confirm.
Open: Panda Express
Chinese food? Yes, please. Panda Express locations around the country will be open on New Year's Day and operating under normal hours.

Good news! Most Chili's restaurants will be open regular hours on New Year's Day 2024.
