Sunny Blooms in Small Bus Vases
Becky Luigart-Stayner for Country Living
Using small glass bud vases to display flowers allows you to really stretch your flower budget as you can only put a few blooms in each vase. But using bright, summery blooms will still make the display pop. Scatter the vases along the center of the table or on a sideboard or coral them in a vintage bottle crate.
More is more when it comes to using small simple blooms like chamomile or mini daisies. When making a wreath to greet your party guests or arrangements for the table, if you choose a single bloom make sure to make the bouquet full and lush.

Flower and Hat Party Wreath
Becky Luigart-Stayner for Country Living
Suns out, fun's out! Throw a flower and straw hat themed party (maybe provide stuff for guests make their own hats) in the backyard. Greet guests with a hat and flower wreath to instantly get them in the mood.
To make: Shape a piece of floral chicken wire into a dome that fits snugly around one-third of the crown. Fill with damp floral foam and place a piece of wax floral tissue paper on the bottom. Wire the dome to the top of the brim and insert flowers into the foam as desired. Finish with a bow attached with hot-glue or a T-pin.

DIY Oyster Wreath
Becky Luigart-Stayner for Country Living
Whether you are throwing a picnic on the beach (see below) or inviting guests to your house for a sand themed party oyster shells make for pretty party decor. Use them to make a wreath, use a paint p en to write names in individual shells for place cards, or place small tea candles in them for lighting up a pretty table.
To make: Wrap a loop of jute rope around a 16-inch wire wreath form and hang. Drill a small hole in an oyster shell using a 3/32-inch drill bit and attach it to the form with thin wire. Repeat until the wreath is covered. (You’ll need roughly 60 shells.)
A party with a bit of a coastal theme will benefit from this easy tea light DIY. Simply hot glue short pieces of drift wood along the edge of a glass tea light. Once complete double (or even triple) wrap the bundle with twine.
To continue a coastal theme, outfit all of the guests drinks with these fun drink markers. To make the fishin’ pole drink stirrers, cut wooden skewers to desired length, and wrap twine around them as shown, gluing in place. Thread twine through the eyelets of clean fishing lures, and knot.
Instead of wasting precious party time mixing individual cocktails, pre mix a large batch. Let guests serve themselves with a chic stoneware beverage dispenser.
Skip the cooler and chill the drinks in a crusty wheel barrow, especially if the celebration is being hosted in a backyard. Label cocktails with miniature chalkboards.
If a seated dinner is planned try your hand at using baker's twine to script every guest's first initial for a low cost decoration. It will make things feel more personal.
Vintage hankies make for a easy to assemble decoration that packs a big punch. Using items you already have on hand, like a wire plant stand, are very handy for serving drinks and small finger foods.
